I can't believe I've been in Singapore a whole month since I arrived here in Singapore. Here I am, going day to day, teaching my wonderful PE classes, trying to figure out what college counseling involves and how to do it effectively and suddenly a whole month has passed and I feel as though I've only been here a few days. There is still so much to learn. Since I've been here, I've eaten fantastic food, including chili crab, stingray, Indian food, fish ball soup, and what is called fried carrot cake, but is actually a ground up root of some kind, I think... I've walked by the beach, gone bike-riding on an island, stayed at work late day after day, gone shopping, played card games, giggled with my apartment-mates, met with most of the Seniors, gone to a kite festival, visited about 7 churches and so much more!
What I am most thankful for in all of this is the peace that God has given me. I don't know what I'm doing, but I feel an incredible peace that the Lord has placed me here for a specific purpose.
Please pray with me that lives of the students here at ICS in Singapore will be transformed!
One month! Wow. Mom and Dad rejoice in the peace that you have and that you exhibit so enthusiastically about serving in Singapore. We praise God for so many friends and connections in Singapore and that you are enjoying your students, your colleagues, your apartment, the churches, Singapore, the challenges, the work, the food, the shopping, and the myriad of blessings that come your way. We are also greatful to God and very proud of you. Much love, Dad and Mom.
